The IRSV is pleased to invite you to join Commissioner McKinnon for our first professional development event for the year.

Commissioner McKinnon will discuss recent changes to sexual harassment legislation, the Commission’s role in dealing with applications to stop sexual harassment at work, as well as providing a case management update from the Commission. 

About our speaker

Commissioner McKinnon is Deputy National Practice Lead for the Fair Work Commission’s bullying and sexual harassment jurisdiction. She was appointed to the Commission from 1 May 2017. Prior to the appointment she was a member of the National Workplace Relations Consultative Council and General Manager of Workplace Relations and Legal Affairs at the National Farmers’ Federation, where she also served on the Board of Rural Skills Australia, as Secretary of Farmsafe Australia and Secretary of the Australian Farmers’ Fighting Fund. Her early professional years were spent managing a boutique workplace relations consultancy in Sydney and later as a Principal Government Lawyer in the Commonwealth Department of Employment during the writing of the Fair Work Act 2009. She completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology, Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Economics (Social Sciences) from Sydney University. She was admitted to legal practice in 2005.
