Online Proceedings at the Fair Work Commission - Reflections and an overview of the Interim Online Proceedings Framework

The IRSV is pleased to invite you to join Deputy President Richard Clancy for our September professional development event - on Thursday 8 September 2022.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to unprecedented changes in the way courts and tribunals conduct proceedings. It has impacted all stages of the Fair Work Commission’s processes: changing how it hears matters, conciliates and administers cases. In order to provide certainty for Commission users, an interim framework has been developed to guide the Commission’s utilisation of online proceedings (for conferences and hearings conducted by Members). The framework has recently been launched and will be reviewed once it has been in operation for 6 months.

About our speaker

Deputy President Richard Clancy commenced his appointment at the Fair Work Commission on 3 February 2016.  He has been the Commission’s Regional Co-ordinator for Victoria, South Australia & Tasmania since 5 July 2021, having previously served as National Practice Leader for both Unfair Dismissals and Anti-Bullying.

Deputy President Clancy was admitted to practise as a Barrister & Solicitor on 1 April 1996, practised in Industrial and Employment law at the Victorian Bar (2001-2006) and has previously been employed in various Employee Relations and Human Resources roles in the private sector.

We look forward to having you join us.
